Letter from the Owner

It is a pleasure to introduce myself and my key staff to you. We at CareMinders® Home Care, view it as an honor to take care of you and your loved ones. We are committed to providing assistance that improves the “quality of life” for our clients which is evidenced by our gold seal of accreditation from the Joint Commission; recognized as the highest accreditation agency in the healthcare industry.

At CareMinders® Home Care we strive to relieve that nervous tension and anxiety that goes along with choosing the right agency for you or your loved one. We have been in business since 2006 and nursing is our passion. Our local management team has over 150 years of combined home care and nursing experience. My personal and professional experiences as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner over the last 26 years have taught me that every client’s needs are unique. Every care plan is made by a registered nurse after an extensive assessment, and the caregiver is hand selected and trained to meet those unique needs.

Our 24/7 accessibility, and team approach bestows confidence and trust in our supervision and care. We understand that inviting a caregiver into your home is a major decision that involves a high level of trust. We operate our company using the highest standards from the toughest rules and regulations in the country. Our Management Team

Lisa M. Reisman, RN, CPNP
Owner

I bring 26 years of nursing experience and leadership to my team and business. I received my Bachelor’s in Nursing from Emory University in 1986. I continued at Georgia State University receiving my Master’s in Nursing in 1996 as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In the 1990’s, my father became ill and he needed caregivers. I was dismayed at the quality of care I found. At that moment I knew I needed to bring my compassion and sensitivity from the pediatric population into the geriatric population. I have always strived to make a difference in every life I have touched. Nursing is my passion. It is my desire to light that passion in all my caregivers and nurses so that their delivery of care is unique and unprecedented. I believe the greatest gift to anyone is to assist them in living their life as they wish…independently in their own home.

I have lived in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area since 1997, with my husband and three boys.

Bill Kaplan
Business Office Manager

Bill is in charge of all financial operations of our office, including, billing, accounts payable, payroll and financial compliance. Bill has over 20 years of experience as a business professional in the health care industry. He began his career auditing health care providers for the federal government with a focus on limiting their reimbursement for non-compliance. He changed career paths by deciding that he could better serve providers and individuals by consulting with them so that they could manage through the numerous rules and regulations to maximize their reimbursement. Prior to joining us, he spent 16 years working for a home health agency as their reimbursement manager and Director, and was instrumental in elevating this agency to one of the top home care providers in Atlanta, GA. Bill is a graduate of Hofstra University with B.S. degree in Business Administration.

Leslie-Ann Jeffrey
Director of Human Resources

As the director of human resources, Leslie is responsible for recruiting new employees and overseeing the adherence to practices and policies that affect CareMinders Home Care employees. She brings strong people management and communication skills to her position. She is an advocate for our employees and clients ensuring that all are treated with respect. She is originally a native of Trinidad and Tobago, which are twin islands located in the Caribbean. She moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1989 where she worked as a Home Health Aide for a large home care company. After moving to Georgia in 2006, she joined the team at CareMinders Home Care as a Certified Nurse Aide and has advanced to Director of Human Resources. Leslie has completed her Associates Degree in Business Administration (ABA) and is working on her bachelor’s degree with a concentration on human resources.

Shasta Washington
Medicaid Compliance Specialist

Shasta joined our team as our Medicaid Compliance Specialist. She oversees all aspects of the delivery of care and proper compliance with the numerous rules and regulations under the Medicaid waiver programs in which we participate. Shasta has worked in the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities field for over 15 years in Georgia and Alabama and brings an understanding of the developmentally disabled unparalleled in the field. As an advocate for the developmentally disabled, she has lobbied at the state level for equal rights and opportunities for this population. Shasta is from Thomasville, Alabama and holds a B.S. degree in Human Services from Troy State University.
