| When selecting CareMinders® Home Care, you’re choosing a
locally owned and independently operated company that considers it both a
privilege and a responsibility to care for you or someone you love and give
great consideration of their wants and desires. We go to great lengths to
satisfy those needs…after all, your comfort is our responsibility.
Choosing a caregiver to assist you, a parent, or other loved one or friend is no
small decision. Where do you turn, how do you decide which company to use, and
what kind of caregiver do you need? At CareMinders® Home Care we begin building
a relationship with you from the start, and continually strengthen it,
step-by-step, day-by-day, through periodic visits and detailed task reporting
of activities our caregivers performed during the day.
The key to providing personalized care to you begins with our preparing an
in-home assessment which helps us determine your needs. We then develop an
individualized care plan with you that will meet these needs and specific
goals.
Part of the assessment process includes determining the characteristics of the
ideal caregiver that satisfies your care plan. Before we suggest a specific
caregiver to assist you, we make all efforts to match their qualifications,
interests, and unique characteristics with your preferences.
Our Caregivers
It takes someone special to become a CareMinders® Home Care caregiver. Our
caregivers must pass a detailed screening process, including an extensive
interview and criminal and other background checks to determine if they truly
represent the CareMinders® Home Care ideals of integrity, loyalty, and a caring
personality. All caregivers are insured and bonded for your peace of mind.
All of our Caregivers participate in a comprehensive CareMinders® Home Care orientation and training program before they can provide services to any of our clients. Additionally, each year, each Caregiver participates in a minimum of 8 hours of classroom based continuing education and training.

The Home Care Industry
During the past 20 years there has been a transformation on how we care for our
elderly and infirm family members. In the 1970’s and early 80’s it was often
commonplace for people to build in-law suites or maintain extra bedrooms in
their homes for elderly or infirm parents to move in with their children. In
the 1980’s we saw a proliferation of nursing homes where many of these family
members were often placed because of growing medical needs and the
inconvenience and demands of having them live with their children who
oftentimes were struggling to take care of their own immediate family and
needs. The 1980’s and 90’s saw the growth of assisted living centers and
retirement communities. More recently, however, there has been a big movement
and desire of our elder family members to stay in their own homes, close to
family and friends, where their familiar surroundings add an element of comfort
for them as they age during their senior years. The desire to remain totally
independent in their home, while very strong, oftentimes has to be weighed
against our elder family members’ ability to take care of themselves as their
physical capabilities diminish as they grow older. Many times younger family
members have relocated to other cities, sometimes leaving elder family members
in a distant location making it difficult if not impossible for younger family
members to lend assistance. Additionally, the grind of every day life
oftentimes makes it impossible for us to balance the responsibilities of taking
care of our own children or work outside of the home, with that of the needs of
our elder family members. Consequently, there is becoming an ever-increasing
demand to hire outside paid help to assist in taking care of those elder family
members who remain in their own homes or, when permitted, other medical
settings. This has partially resulted in the explosive growth of the home care
industry.
We are currently in the early stages of a projected 25-year boom in the home
care industry. Why? Because of two major factors:
-
our population is getting older as a percentage of our total population
-
improvements in medicine during the last three decades have increased the
average life expectancy thereby allowing us to live longer
